Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 September 2026. This policy explains what personal data AI Marketing Kombat collects when you register, why, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible (data controller)
The controller of your personal data is:
- PERFMATCH SPC, The Special Economic Zone at Duqm, Al-Duqm, Al Wusta Governorate, Sultanate of Oman
- Contact: hello@aimarketingkombat.com
- Company / VAT number: Commercial registration no. 1603187 · License no. L3178556
We are a small operator and are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer or an EU representative.
What we collect
When you register we collect only:
- your name (the "fighter name" you enter);
- your email address;
- whether you opted in to tournament email updates.
If we later add analytics or security logging, we will collect limited technical data (such as approximate, aggregated usage statistics) as described below. We do not ask for sensitive data, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your data for the purposes below, each with its own legal basis under GDPR Article 6:
- Registering you and running the tournament — including placing you on the leaderboard and emailing you about your entry. Basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Sending you tournament news and updates by email — only if you tick the optional box. Basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
- Keeping the site secure and understanding, in aggregate, how it is used. Basis: our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)), balanced against your privacy.
We never use your registration data for marketing unless you have separately opted in.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the tournament and act on our instructions, such as:
- our website hosting provider;
- our email delivery provider (to send confirmations and, if you opted in, updates);
- analytics and advertising providers (Google, Microsoft and Meta), only if you allow them in the cookie banner;
- the provider of our image model for AIMK Avatar (Google), only if you use AIMK Avatar.
A current list of these providers is available on request at hello@aimarketingkombat.com.
Where your data is held
We keep your data within the EU/EEA wherever possible. If a provider processes data outside the EU (for example in the United States), we rely on an approved transfer mechanism — the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses — to protect it.
How long we keep it
- Registration data (name, email): kept for the tournament and up to 12 months afterwards — so we can follow up and tell you about the next edition — then deleted.
- Marketing opt-in: kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see your rights).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw marketing consent at any time — without affecting your registration.
To exercise any of these, email hello@aimarketingkombat.com. We respond within one month and do not charge a fee. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to your local EU data-protection authority (for example, the AEPD in Spain or the APD/GBA in Belgium).
Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of cookies. Some are necessary for the site and the test to work. The rest load only if you agree to them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Necessary (always on):
- amk_consent: remembers your cookie choice on our website and our test pages. Set by us, kept for 6 months.
- user_id and session cookies of the test platform (web2wave): keep your answers together while you take the test.
Analytics (only with your consent):
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd): shows us, in aggregate, how pages and the test are used. Cookies: _ga, _ga_*, kept for up to 2 years.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd): session recordings and heatmaps, used to find places where a page is confusing. Cookies: _clck (1 year), _clsk (1 day).
Marketing (only with your consent):
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd): tells Meta that a page was viewed, that the test was started or finished, that an email address was left or confirmed, that a registration was completed and that the reminders bot was connected. We use this to measure our adverts on Facebook and Instagram. We also use these events to avoid showing our adverts to people who have left their email address with us in the last 30 days. We do not send your name, your email address or your test answers through the pixel. Cookies: _fbp, _fbc, kept for 3 months.
- With the same consent, our server also confirms two of these events to Meta (an email address left, a registration completed), together with a hashed version of your email address, your IP address and your browser type, so that Meta can match the event without reading the address itself. Without your consent to marketing cookies this is not sent.
Google Tag Manager, which reads your choice and starts these tools, loads on every page, but it starts nothing without your consent. If you decline, none of the analytics or marketing tools run.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, also counts page visits for us. It sets no cookies and does not identify you, so it runs whether or not you agree to cookies.
Google, Microsoft and Meta may process this data in the United States. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, where needed, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. For the Meta Pixel, Meta Platforms Ireland and we act as joint controllers for the collection and transmission of the data. Meta’s own use of it is described in Meta’s Privacy Policy.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy rules on cookies). You can withdraw it at any time through "Cookie settings". Withdrawing consent does not affect your registration.
AIMK Avatar: your photo and your portrait
AIMK Avatar turns a photo of you into an AI-generated portrait of your test persona. You use it only if you choose to, only with a photo of yourself, and only if you are 18 or older. Your browser makes the photo smaller and sends it to our server, which passes it to our image model provider, Google (Gemini API), and sends the portrait back to your screen. We use the photo only to draw that portrait.
We never store the photo. We keep the portrait until 30 November 2026, when Season 1 is over, so it can show in your posts: the link in your post opens a page with the portrait, and networks such as X or LinkedIn show it as the link preview. Anyone with that link can see the portrait. The portrait is stored with Vercel, which also hosts our website. You can delete it at any time with the "Delete the link now" button on the page, or by writing to partners@aimarketingkombat.com. After that the picture disappears from our link within an hour. Networks keep their own copy of a preview in posts you have already published, under their own terms.
The provider of the image model processes the photo on our behalf under its API terms: it does not use the photo to train its models, and it may keep it for up to 55 days only to detect abuse, after which it is deleted. Google may process the photo outside the EU, including in the United States. Such transfers are protected as described under "Where your data is held".
We ask for your consent on the page before the upload, and that consent is the legal basis for this processing. We count how the page is used, for example that a portrait was made or that a post button was pressed, without the photo or the portrait. Questions go to partners@aimarketingkombat.com.
Every portrait is marked as AI-generated, both on the image and inside the file.
Automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you by purely automated means, and we do not profile you.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the new version here with an updated date. Significant changes affecting your data will be communicated where appropriate.
